Master Alfred Medina
Master Alfred Medina is BCHC's head instructor. Master Medina has over 30 years of Martial Arts experience. Master Medina is a 6th Dan Senior Instructor in Combat Hapkido. He is the Vice-President representative for the ICHF in New York City. He holds several Master Instructor certifications in Tae Kwon Do and is certified by the World TaeKwonDo Association (WTA), the Independent TaeKwonDo Association (ITA) and the World Martial Arts Research Union. In 1997 Master Medina was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame and received the "The Master Instructor of the Year Award".
Master Medina is a 22 year retired NYPD police sergeant. He is a certified Police General Topics, Defensive Tactics and Firearms Instructor. Master Medina is a five time recipient of the "Governor Twenty" Police Pistol Combat award. In 1991 he was inducted into the National Rifle Association's (NRA) "1480 Club". Master Medina has been featured on Channel One Cable Television in New York City.
Master James M. Hartigan
Master James M. Hartigan is the BCHC's Senior Assistant Instructor. A retired Firefighter/First Responder/Hazmat, Kyosanim Hartigan has also worked as a private police office, security officer for a luxury Manhattan hotel, body guard (military and civilian) and Bouncer.
Master Hartigan has had a stellar military career: Military experience that includes US Army Active / Reserves, Special Forces A Team (Green Beret) , US Marine Corps Active / Reserve , Marine Security Forces (Anti Terror). He has trained with and Instructed many National and International units to include the US, British, Germans, Danes and Israelis. He's also a rifle, pistol, small weapons and demo expert.
A 4th degree in Combat Hapkido, Master Hartigan has an extensive martial arts background that includes Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Krav Maga, Shotokan, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Traditional Hapkido.
He's also a Black Belt in Ji Do Kwon, Certified Instructor Reality Based Self Defense, Certified Military Combatives Association Instructor, and SHARP Instructor
Instructor James Brown
Instructor James Brown is an assistant instructor at BCHC. He has over ten years of study and training in martial arts. A 2nd degree in Combat Hapkido, he also hold rank in traditional hapkido and has training in san shou / sanda, jui-jitsu and arnis. Instructor Brown is also a certified instructor in rape prevention (SHARP), woman self defense (AWSDA), and spontaneous knife defense (PPCT)
